While ongoing lockdowns throughout the world have altered many shopping habits, traditional essential goods such as tissue have been in particular demand, resulting in shortages and shipping delays; however, it is possible to almost completely supplement tissue use with reusable handkerchiefs if use strategically.
Facial Tissues are often placed throughout peoples homes for convenience and, as an ingrained habit, use of tissue can be difficult to alter even in during supply shortages as are experiencing during this pandemic. However, there are ways to prevent high tissue use in households where illness os not present or suspected, including by supplanting them with reusable alternatives.
One method for this is by placing handkerchiefs where facial tissues are often placed throughout the home, replicating the effect of tissues; this effect can be furthered if boxed handkerchiefs, are used as tissues. Even if you do not have these handkerchiefs in tissue style boxes, keeping assorted open handkerchiefs in a basket or bag would also suffice.
When placed in conveinveent pacckets for travel, handkerchiefs can supplement tissues and importantly, be changed for fresh ones frequently.
Another method for preventing disposable tissue use is by carrying at least one handkerchief at all times, preventing the need to resort to tissues, especially if out of the house. Because of this use of handkerchiefs and the subsequent need for regular laundering, it may also be necessary to develop a convenient laundry accommodation, with a hamper or hampers placed throughout the house for convenience, or a single hamper in a bedroom or other such location for simplicity.
It should be noted that handkerchiefs availability is not apparently considerably hindered by the pandemic and subsequently should be relatively easy to obtain for low prices.
